Please expect 2-4 weeks (or more) for your mail to reach me.  Be sure to write “Air Mail/Par Avion” on letters as well.  Be very general on customs forms to avoid holdups either in the US or in Burkina.  Also, writing religious phrases such as “Que Dieu protege ce colis” can help deter tampering.  Lastly, don’t send me postcards as they will most likely end up on the walls of some post office somewhere.
